Dear Parents & Guardians of Oakesdale Elementary Students,
We have had a great start to the school year and I have been so proud of how your children are behaving and achieving on a daily basis. They are coming to school ready to learn, they are energetic, and enthusiastic each day. It is a true joy to see their love for learning be exhibited while they are here.
I was totally impressed with the efforts put into Homecoming Week by our elementary students. Each dress up day brought a new set of wonderful surprises as we showed our school spirit each day of the week in one form or another. Each morningÕs parade in the gym was a lot of fun and I was very proud of the school spirit your children showed.
With this letter you are also receiving our new elementary school handbook. This book is designed specifically for our elementary families without all the information included in our version for the secondary level students. The handbook (yellow cover) communicates our school and district rules and regulations and should serve as basic information for you regarding what is expected of our students, and also communicates general guidelines in how certain situations may be handled. This handbook, along with our secondary level handbook is also available on our school website at www.oakesdale.wednet.edu
In a short time, you will receive via mail the Hawk Talk newsletter, which will be inclusive of school wide events and information. This newsletter will also provide other notices about how important our website will become as we strive to improve the communication between parents and students.
Be on the lookout for information concerning volunteer opportunities and other ways in which families can help the school. The partnership between home and school is vitally important to each student and we want to do all possible to make that a great partnership. We appreciate all that has been done so far.
Thank you again, and thanks to your children for making Oakesdale such a wonderful school. Our staff is very excited about how the year has started and it is because of the efforts of the students that has made this such a great time.
Sincerely,
Jake Dingman
SuperPrince of Oakesdale School District
