Hi! I have been
working in the field of education since graduating from Eastern Washington
University in 1979, where I majored in Child Development and minored in math.
My career began in Spokane and Pullman where I taught Preschool, and
Middleton, Idaho where I taught First Grade. Then, in 1983, my husband took a
job in Alaska and we headed north, where I taught a menagerie of grade
combinations, the first of which was as the only teacher, grades K-9, in a
one room, floating schoolhouse. While I was in Alaska I also taught a single
grade kindergarten for 5 yrs, a 1st and 2nd grade combination, a 5th and 6th
grade combination, and varying combinations in reading, math, science, and
social studies of students in grades 3 - 12. After leaving Alaska at the end
of the 1999 school year I taught both 4th and 2nd grades in Worley, Idaho,
followed by a year of a teaching a1st and 2nd grade combination
class in Clarkston Washington. Now, it thrills me to finally be home,
teaching in such a wonderful school and supportive community.
