Mr. Ostheller is happy to be a member of the
Oakesdale school administration and enjoys being here on the Eastern side of
the State. He comes from a family of educators where his grandfather was a
farmer and a teacher and both his parents were teachers. Mr. Ostheller
graduated from the Hong Kong International School in Hong Kong in 1981 and
then went to Western Washington University in Bellingham were he received his
Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, with a focus on finance, in
1985. During his time at college, Mr. Ostheller spent several summers working
on the family farm in Fairfield driving truck and combine during harvest. In
1986, he moved to Aberdeen Washington where he worked a variety of jobs in
sales and as a lab technician for a small oil refinery. During this time he
also married Nancy, an elementary teacher at Wishkah Valley School,.
In 1994, Mr.
Ostheller went back to school to become an educator. He received his teaching
certification in 1995 from Saint MartinÕs College in Lacey, his vocational
certification from Central Washington University in 1996, and started
teaching at Raymond Junior/Senior High School where he taught computers,
video production, accounting, and business classes. Mr. Ostheller went back
to school in 1999 at Washington State University where he earned his Masters
Degree in Educational Leadership and his Principal certification in 2001. He
moved to Mansfield in 2003 to become the Vice Principal /Dean of Students for
the K-12 school. In June of 2005 Mr. Ostheller happily accepted the position
of K-12 Principal in Oakesdale. Currently, he is enjoying his time on the
Palouse (GO COUGS!) and working on his Superintendent Certification from
Washington State University.
