I grew up on a
Quarter Horse Ranch in Rosalia, WA where I learned to rope and ride. I earned
my teaching certificate at W.S.U. with a double major in English and Social
Studies. While there I played baseball for the legendary coach Bobo Brayton
and was a teammate of Aaron Sele and Scott Hatteberg. I later earned my
masterÕs degree from Gonzaga University.
My teaching
career began in Bridgeport, Washington, where I taught English in grades seven
through ten for two years. When my wife Joey graduated from college with a
teaching degree, we headed south to Mesa, Arizona where we both taught in the
public schools. I taught eighth and ninth grade English and a reading
recovery class. We loved living in the Valley of the Sun and enjoyed hiking,
biking, rollerblading and traveling while living in Arizona. One of our
favorite destinations was Mission Beach in San Diego.
My family and
I enjoy living and working in Oakesdale. What a fun job I have working with
great kids. Working with kids in the fifth through eighth grades is awesome.
I get a kick out of teaching kids life skills, character development, and
some different things like roping and DriverÕs Education. Oakesdale is a
special place to live, work and raise a family.
